Lyrics

When the cold crackles over Lake Ladoga,
A blizzard sings about the snowy expanses
That is heard in that harsh song -
Buzz, buzz one and a half motors.

Purge blizzard, vultures bomb
Fascist shells are leaking ice
But do not close the ring of blockade to the enemy
There are cars with bread in Leningrad,
There are cars with bread in Leningrad.

Through a hundred deaths then a half and a half rushed
A hundred times the sky fell upon them
But the word “bread” was equal to the word “life”,
And if life means victory.

And the city believed in the rumble of cannonades,
That the whole country lives by his anxiety.
And so the ice road
There are cars with bread in Leningrad,
There are cars with bread in Leningrad.

The flashes of war flashed in the sky
Where there were fights - the fields lie without an edge.
And the bread ripens, and there is no price to it,
And rolls the waves of Ladoga gray-haired.

Peaceful years fly over her
Centuries will pass, but people will hear
Like frost and thunder of guns through a blizzard
There are cars with bread in Leningrad,
There are cars with bread in Leningrad.
